IHSA General Media Credentials
Apply for 2026-27 General Media Credentials — issued to outlets that generally cover three or more IHSA State Final events per school year. Good for access into all IHSA State Finals, and doubles as a parking pass at most venues.
Single-Event State Final credentials
No General Credential? Email Matt Troha at mtroha@ihsa.org. Deadline: Thursday 3:30 PM for Friday events, Wednesday 3:30 PM for Thursday events.
Regular season & earlier State Series rounds
The IHSA does not issue credentials prior to the State Final round — contact the host school about its local media credential protocol.
Broadcasters
Radio/Audio Broadcast Application — required to broadcast any State Final or the Basketball Super-Sectionals (includes agreement to air one IHSA PSA per broadcast). TV/Video Streaming Application — for any State Series round (incl. all Football Playoff rounds); first check with the host school whether the event streams on the NFHS Network, and email the application to the IHSA and the host school AD.
Student media & Activities
Student media credentials are submitted by the school AD or program supervisor. Activity State Finals (Chess, Debate, Drama, Speech…) require no credential — just check in with tournament personnel on arrival.
